At Las Chicharras, we had some special guests.

Many people visit Las Chicharras but it was little different from other groups who were mainly coffee related people.

But this group came all the way from Korea to volunteer at Ichthus. As a part of their program during their stay in Mexico, they went to Las Chicharras to experience a coffee farm and serve the kids growing at the farm.

On the first day, they played games with the kids and the adults.

They played a few games and at the end of the game, they also received small gifts. There were more girls than we thought so some girls ended up getting robots. But they were still glad to receive the gifts. We went back the next day and their toys never left their sides. We were glad to see that the kids were happy.

On the second day, they experienced how the life at the farm is like. Since Korea is not a coffee growing country, they were very surprised by how coffee grew.

They tried planting new trees. They learned a lot about coffee while they were at the farm.

The coffee they planted will grow for another 3 years and then we will harvest.

Even though it was a short period of time to experience the farm and serve the kids, we hope that they continue to have the spirit of learning and experiencing new things!
